The flange sheared off during the BRDC practice day and the splines broke after a spin in the CSCC second race of the season during qualification both at Silverstone, which we was able to fix 2 mins before the race started. So time for change to put an end to the breakages as I get faster. We have removed both the six to four bolt adaptors on the drive shafts at both ends and gone for the following set up. This being new R200 differential 6 bolt 108 mm output flanges to fit Porche 911 CV joints coupled to Australian "MadDat" molibium drive shafts, coupled the other end to a 27 spline 260Z half shafts which are 2 mm larger than I had before using custom made 27 spline companion flanges, again with a 6 bolt interface for the Porche CV joints referred to above.
After 2.5 years we have decided to get the speedo working for pit entry speed as it has been known for me to be a bit too hot on the way in and get into trouble. We fitted a speed sensor and magnet on the wheel hub rear face and this works a treat.
Let us see how this works at Oulton Park this weekend, this is my worst circuit so therefore I have a race coach on Friday to bring me up to speed as I don't have time to learn it myself due to life running short at my age. It still looks like my toughest challenge so far racing on my own so back soon with my report.
Sponsorship Opportunities.
This is a concourse built 2017 Race car, regularly at the top of its class. We would be happy to discuss potential sponsorship deals.
Racing is fun and potential sponsors would be looked after as one of the team and could be involved if it works for the team and the sponsor.
Currently the team is funded solely by the owner.
